Top 5 Tips to Avoid Google Ban

It is common problem among website owners that sometimes their website dropped from Google index and they do not find their website entering the target keywords in the search box . The reason is simple, that website doesnt follow ethical SEO Tips for optimizing website for Google. It happened to one of my friends sites in past. Through that experience I learned a lot about Googles algorithm of indexing or ranking a website and giving it higher priority for targeted keywords. Like all if you want to avoid Google ban for your site than you must follow the tips given below:

1.Make your site Accessible.

This means that your site must have very good uptime. Always use reliable hosting service with good uptime (no less than 99%) and fast response time. Also ad a Robots.txt file in your root url. Your website may be drod by Google SERPs if Googlebot comes to your site and cannot access it.

2.Add only unique and relevant content to your website.

Add only unique content to your website. It must be informative and interesting to your visitors and relevant to your website theme. Write content for real humans and not for search engines. If you add a duplicate content on your site, copied from somewhere else, there will be more chances to be excluded from Googles index.

3.Avoid spam to promote your website.

Avoid spam as this mistake may causes of ban your website from Google index. In this way never use doorways, hidden text, auto-generated page, keyword stuffing, cloaking or any other type of unethical techniques.

4.Building link popularity for your website.

Quality matters a lot and not every inbound link is always good. Take care of websites linking to you. Avoid to participate in link farms or FFA pages. Try to get links from related theme websites only. Avoid spamming forums, guest books, blogs or comments. Outgoing links are also very important. Pay attention on what sites do you link from your website. Avoid link to sites that use spam techniques, because this may harm your site and your site may be banned from Google.

5.Add A Sitemap.

Provide a way for Googlebot to index the whole pages of your website. Create sitemap and link it to all pages of your website as sitemap helps Googlebot to easily access your all web pages. If you are using JavaScript or Flash links - duplicate them with plain text. I think above tips will be useful to you all and by using these tips your site will never be banned from google....if you have any suggestion or comment fell free to share with me.

Improve Your Search Engine Rankings

So you've decided to create a Web site. The first thing you'll want to think about is search engine optimization. Using proper SEO will ensure your site gets great placement in search engine results. You can hire someone to help you or use SEO yourself.

Here are some tips on improving your search engine rankings:

1. Select and use strong keywords. You'll want your content to be rich with keywords, but don't go overboard. If you use too many keywords search engines will pick up on it and your site won't rise in the rankings. If you use too many keywords, your site could be excluded altogether.

2. Compare to other sites. You'll want to see what those with great placement are doing on their sites. Search for sites that are similar to yours. Take a look at the sites that have received high placement in the search results. While on the web page select "view" and click "source." This will give you the opportunity to analyze the keywords and tags that were used.

3. Use keyword tools. A keyword tool is helpful in determining how visitors search for sites related to yours. By using a keyword tool you'll be able to see how many hits a site would get using certain search terms. You can use the popular search terms you find to get better search engine placement.

4. Have working links. Make sure all the links on your web site work. If you have dead links on your site, it negatively effects your site's placement in search engine results.

5. Submit your site to directories. There are several free directories you where you can submit your site. Others charge a fee. Don't overlook paying this fee though because this increases your changes of having search engines list your site.

6. Create a sitemap. Creating a sitemap and submitting it to search engines will guarantee that all the pages of your site will be included when the search engines crawl the site. You can use a free program to create a sitemap.

7. Create backlinks. It can take awhile for search engines to find your Web site. One way to promote it is by using backlinks. Backlinks are links that point back to your web site from a different web site. Ways you can get backlinks are to write articles related to your site's topic and submit them to free article sources such as Ezine Articles. At the end of the article, write a little bit about yourself as an author and link to your site.

8. Use reciprocal links. Find sites that are related to yours and ask the web site owner to place a link to your site on their site. In return you'll do the same. You can contact sites that are complementary to yours. For example, if you have a site that sells a variety of hats, you can have links placed on sites that sell coats and jackets. You can get in contact with the web site owner by looking for the contact information on the site. Send an email and ask for a reciprocal link.

Article Marketing - Don't Stop Your Reader From Going to the Resource Box in Your Articles

If you are using Article Marketing to build your list or bring visitors to your web site or blog, one of the most important parts of your article in the article resource box. The resource box is where you get to invite the reader to your web site or blog for more information.

Very few writers know how to craft a prospect pulling resource box. Most do not do it well. The most amazing mistake I see are the article writers that actually stop the reader from ever getting to the resource box.

Sound strange? How do you know you are not doing it?

The 2 Biggest Resource Box Stop Signs

The first biggest stop sign is what I call a "hard end" to the article. By this I mean that you write in a way that the end of the article is way too clear. You might as well put "The End" like in a movie in the way you have worded the article.

The mistake there is the reader gets the message, "Oh, this is over. I'm outta here," and they are not likely to read further.

What to do instead: Don't stop the reader, lead them right into the resource box with a soft transition.

The second biggest stop sign is starting the resource box with information about you. This also announces "the article is over and you can stop reading now!"

What to do instead: Save the information about you for the last line of the resource box. Begin your resource box with an invitation to the reader to visit your web site or blog for more information.

Make Money Using Easy Article Marketing Techniques

Unless you are very new to the business, or live in a cave, you've probably heard of article marketing. There are a number of advantages in using article marketing for your online business. It is a very effective technique to advertise a website, promote a product, build traffic to your site, increase back links to improve a website's ranking, and make money online. And the best thing about article marketing, it's FREE!

How do you participate in article marketing? It is easy. Write short, 300 to 500 word articles and submit them to 10 to 25 of the largest article submission directory sites. (You can find these sites by doing a search.) Include an author's resource box in each article you write. Your resource box should include 2 or 3 links to the websites or products that you are promoting. As people see your links, they will click on them, visit the site or products that you are recommending, and make you money.

To get the most benefit from your resource box, your article should be related to the sites or products that you are promoting in your resource box. For example, if your website is about bird watching, you would benefit most by writing an article on "Finding Red-Headed Woodpeckers In The Wild." People who are interested enough to read the article will also have an interest in seeing what you have to offer on your bird watching website. There is a good chance that many of them will click on your links and visit your site.

On the other hand, if your site is about bird watching and your article is about the newest rock group, few rockers will click on your links. You should always make sure that your links are closely related to the information in your article. This is the way to maximize the amount of money you make through article marketing.

Building an SEO strategy

Before embarking on optimizing your site for search engine ranking you need to create your SEO strategy on how you are going to achieve your high ranking, if you dont do this you do not have something to work towards.

When starting your SEO strategy you need to think about when you are going to carry out the work. We know the work will be carried out while we are creating our website but there are other parts of an SEO strategy that are carried out once your website is ready.

The initial phase of your SEO strategy will be within the creation of your site, planning your keywords and writing your content with keyword density and completing all meta and title tag information found in the head field of your site.

The second phase of your SEO strategy is to start link building, search engines use their algorithms to determine the strength of your site, this includes the amount of links going to your site, these are seen as a vote of how valued your site is. Although search engines are very quiet about how their algorithms actually work, it is believed that they prefer links built up over time rather than 100 links created in a week then no more links added.

When link building it is good practice to start with quite a few inbound links and then carry on building links slowly over time showing your site to be popular, make sure the links are relevant to your topic and preferably sites that the search engines already see as strong sites themselves. A good way to build links while keeping the sites relevant to your site is writing articles, if you write articles about your topic and submit them to article directories publishers will use your article on their site including a link to yours.

The Different Keyword Search Results Between Overture and Wordtracker

Keyword Selection is fundamental to Search Engine marketing. Get the wrong keywords your online business is doomed to fail. Find the right keywords and you will drive masses of targeted traffic to your website via the Search Engines.

There have been discussions in webmasters forums why are the search query results of Overture so much different than those of Wordtracker? For example at the time of this writing a search query for the key phrase internet marketing yielded 342, 848 searches for the last 60 days by Overture, and 2, 356 by Wordtracker. Now, which is more accurate?

Overture

It is a Pay Per Click Search Engine. According to Overture, its statistics of searches in previous months are compiled from its partners, which include AltaVista, Yahoo, MSN Search, HotBot and All the Web. So the statistics from Overture are broad based because it has a larger network.

Its data, though, has some drawbacks.

1. There's no distinction between...

a. Singular and plural terms.

You have to figure if surfers are searching for the singular or plural form of the keyword.

b. Upper and lower case.

c. Human queries and automated queries.

Queries by automated bid optimizers, position and ranking monitors, link popularity analyzers are registered as hits.

2. Duplicate Searches

For example a person doing a search for a particular key phrase in Yahoo, and then in MSN would be registered as 2 hits.

Wordtracker

It is a keyword generator and analyzer, and it does not have direct access to the major Search Engines' databases. Wordtracker gets a lot of its analyzer data from Meta-crawler and Dogpile, which are meta search engines. Metacrawler and Dogpile search the major Search Engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN Search and Ask Jeeves, and retrieve the best results.

The data of Wordtracker, mostly gathered from Metacrawler and Dogpile, represents only a small percentage of total searches on the Internet.

Wordtracker has about 350 million searches over an 8-week rolling cycle (Source: Search Engine Workshops Weblog, June 30, 2005). Now for some Maths. 350 million searches over 56 days would give an average of 6.25 million searches per day. Google with a share of 36 per cent of Internet traffic (Source: comScore qSearch, July 2005), registers about 112 million of searches per day (Source: Top Ten list, Wordtracker). So in comparison to total searches on the Internet, Wordtracker represents only 2 per cent.

When Wordtracker returns zero query for a particular search phrase, it does not mean that no one searches for it on the Internet.

However, with Wordtracker, automated queries are not added to searches, and duplicate searches are eliminated. Singular and plural, upper case and lower case search terms are distinguished except for keywords where singular, plural, lower or upper case, are similiar in meanings eg.'keyword' and 'keywords'.

Overture or Wordtracker?

For Overture the figures are inflated, whilst for Wordtracker they are under reported. Nonetheless, these are helpful tools for keyword research and selection. Use these figures as guides, and not absolutes to make comparisons in your choice of key words.

For example if keyword phrase 1 has 10,000 searches in Overture, and keyword phrase 2 has 2000 searches, then it is obvious that key phrase 1 would bring in more traffic if your web page is properly optimized. But don't expect 10,000 visitors with key phrase 1.

I have read on Webmasters' forums of people who had selected keywords based on the promising number of searches on Overture, optimized their web page, and achieved within the top 10 positions of major Search Engines, yet saw very little traffic.

In my opinion, if you are comparing popularity between keywords or key phrases, Overture will do the job. If you are selecting keywords or keyword phrases to start an online business, or advertising on Pay Per Click engines, conventional wisdom would tell you Wordtracker is a better bet. It is better to set lower expectations based on lower figures, and be pleasantly surprised when things turned out otherwise.

Warning Signs of Bad Search Engine Optimization

It is common knowledge that the best and cheapest way to get traffic to your website is to have a good ranking with the search engines. Ideally, you want to be listed on the first search page of all the engines as potential customers rarely go beyond that.

The first warning sign that your site is not properly optimized will be that you have a poor search engine ranking or none at all when you type in keywords relating to your site. While there are many services that promise you high search engine rankings there are a few obvious warning signs that your website is poorly optimized to look out for yourself.

Is your website registered with the search engines? If not, do so immediately. Google, Yahoo and MSN are the main ones but consider registering with others as well. Have a close look at the content of your website. Ask yourself if the look and content of the site is attractive to visitors. Make sure that the website looks good and that all content is interesting and readable.

Have you thought carefully about who your customers are and what words they are likely to type in when searching for the product or service you have on offer? Perhaps the biggest warning sign of bad search engine optimization is the poor use of keywords.

You should research which are the most commonly used keywords and work them into the content of your website, as well as in the title and the meta data. Also try working them into the links on your website, instead of having redundant link text such as 'Click here for more'.

The content of your website should also have a good sprinkling of keywords, no less than 2%. Try to work these into your content naturally and don't sacrifice quality for the sake of a few extra keywords.

Do you have backlinks to your site? If not, you should start work on creating these immediately. Submitting articles relating to your product or service to article directories can be a great way of doing this. Your articles can be published for free but will contain a backlink to your site, thus boosting your popularity among search engines.

Finally, keep your website up to date. Not only will visitors to your site appreciate the extra effort, search engines track how often websites are updated. So keep it fresh.

SEO The Old School Way

There's been a lot of changes in search engine optimization at least over the past 9 years that I've been doing it. Back in 1999 keyword stuffing was considered, if not white hat, then a reasonably grayish-white way to get a web page to the top of the rankings. Back then, you would come across many websites where the tops of the pages (above the fold as they say) were for the visitors of the site and keywords stuffed at the bottom of the page were for the search engines.

But, over time a consensus among webmasters, SEOs and the search engines emerged that this method was not preferable. What developed as preferable over time was writing complete sentences for the visitors of the website without any regard to the search engines. But, for a while the search engines lagged in rewarding this behavior ahead of the keyword stuffing behavior.

It was only after this reward system took hold, and the ranking algorithms became savvy to this trick and delivered a consistent reward-punishment system to shall we say, good pages versus bad pages, that webmasters and SEOs had a playbook in which to follow. Of course, many years ago, much of this was unspoken.

There was no Matt Cutts from Google or Google Guy giving SEOs hints here and there of what behaviors were considered white hat, black hat, gray hat or snow cone hat. Before the days of Matt Cutts, SEOs had to guess and talk to each other on message boards to compare, confabulate and surmise what was going on with the latest algorithm change or anomaly (of course this still goes on today).

But, just as the search engine algorithms evolved so have the black hat SEOs who have kept one step ahead of the search engines (or tried to) and have become even more sophisticated at gaming the system. Cloaking, sophisticated redirects for siphoning Page Rank (PR) or cheating link partners have abounded.

An entire industry has evolved around buying and selling text links for the purposes of passing PR from one site to the next. The buyers want to buy enough PR to get their websites up in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs) and those doing the selling are happy to make a profit doing just that.

But, even throughout all the efforts to game the search engines, old school SEO hasn't changed that much over time. The basics of keyword research, on-page optimization, link-building and tracking results, which is the core of SEO has stayed the core.

Sure, there are new wrinkles as to exactly how to do this core of white hat search engine optimization. Within the past couple of years, blogs and social media have both come on strong and evolved. Old school SEOs have had to be flexible and adapt to new market conditions and even embrace the new online media.

But, when one gets lost in the new and shiny techniques (which is easy to do) it is important to pull back a while, gain some perspective and realize that old school SEO will still get a website where it needs to be. And, as trust is important in any business relationship, clients can rest assured that their white hat won't get their website dumped at the drop of a hat for using black hat techniques that the search engines have caught wind of and penalized.

Old school SEO still rocks and there is no reason to believe that this will change anytime soon.

Article Marketing How to Drive Readers to Click on Your Bio Link

What is the use of writing 100's of articles if they don't convert your readers into prospects? All that effort would be wasted. Many writers are faced with this problem because on one culprit.

The bio area is one of the most important factors in article marketing. It is so important, that if written poorly, will be the result of little to no traffic filtering to your website. Your bio area is the end goal of your article. The whole reason for writing your article is so that the reader can bond with you and finally be stimulated to click on the link in the bio area in order to become a prospect.

By understanding the importance of your bio area, you will be on the right path to a successful article marketing campaign.

So what makes an effective bio area?

The first thing you need to do is realize that the bio area is the place where you get to sell your self. So, if that is the case, then why not treat this little space with the same respect that you would on your website's sales page. Tell the reader to click on your link. Let the reader know of the benefits he or she will be receiving if they do. This is selling.

Don't tell the reader what an excellent person you are, or how old you are etc. They don't care. That has nothing to do with the subject of the article, so who cares. People need to be told what to do. Once they have read your article they are left with options. They are in a state of question.

That question usually sounds something like this: Now what?

This is the best time to tell them what option to take.

How Many Articles Does it Take to Be Perceived as the Leading Authority on a Subject?

The question has been posed on the top online article submission site on the Internet. The number one article submission site on Planet Earth: "How many articles does it take to become perceived as being the market authority on a narrow or broad topic?"

This is an interesting question and perception is also a very interesting word as well. For one to be perceived as an expert in a subject matter they would most likely need enough articles to fill up a 50,000 word eBook. If their average article was 500 to 1,000 words then that would be between 50 to 100 well-written articles. Even if they cut them down to 300 to 400 word bite size articles on many various sub-topics we are still talking well over 100 articles you see.

If an online article author has fewer than 25 articles on a subject, it might be hard for a reader to perceive them as being a leading authority on a broad subject. Even a narrow topic they would need to be able to fill up a 10,000 to 20,000 word research paper and that would be about 20 to 40 articles. So, either way we are really looking at more than twenty articles before the reader's perception would be inclined to label you as an expert or leading authority from their perspective.

The fascinating thing about this subject is that it is indeed a reader preference call, meaning that there is no wrong or right absolute answer, so as the leading authority on online article authoring, I simply lead you with this thought to consider. You make the call.

6 Ways to Capitalize on the Growth of the Internet

There are about 2 billion websites listed on the Internet today. Thats about 76,000 times the number of sites that existed in 1998. That is a pretty nice rate of growth. The question is, how can we capitalize on that? Lets make a few assumptions based on this information:

1) We can expect that the number of websites will continue to grow. Each of these new websites will need a place to be hosted. Look for quality companies that are among the best in the field and join their affiliate programs. These can be very profitable programs because you collect a check every time someone makes a payment. In addition, many of the sites will seek out domain names, look for the largest of these companies to continue to do well.

2) Most of these newer websites will attempt to increase the traffic to their site. Seek out popular programs that cater to increasing traffic. There are numerous SEO companies and others that focus on this type of business.

3) Some of these sites will be designed and maintained by professionals. Look for large companies that offer a full range of services in this area. Companies that offer Flash sites will probably do well in the foreseeable future.

4) The number of web pages available displaying ads will continue to grow. The amount of money you collect on a per ad basis will probably decrease due to the increase in the number of sites seeking to display them. Diversify and look for innovative ways to monetize your site.

5) Internet sales will continue to soar, but, due to the increased competition, the amount of income per web site will probably decrease. The big will get bigger, and it will more difficult for new, smaller sites to make a livable wage. Use whatever you can to grow and increase traffic. It will only get more difficult in the future.

6) The popularity of Internet video has been experiencing explosive growth. If you doubt what I say, look at youtube. Video will continue to play an ever-increasing role and may eventually replace written content. Look into adding some sort of video option to your site.

By being proactive, and looking to add some of the programs mentioned above, we might be able to capitalize on future Internet trends. Dont replace the things you are doing now, especially if they are working well. Just begin to add in some of the income streams above to take advantage of future growth.

Article Marketing & List Building - How to Build a Highly Qualified & Highly Responsive List of Gold

Article marketing is absolutely the best free way to build a highly responsive list. And it really only takes repeating five steps over and over again.

5 Steps to a List of Gold

Step 1 - Write a great quality article - When you write a great article giving good actionable information the reader is going to want more information and they are going to want it from you.

Step 2 - Your resource box - In your resource box invite the reader back to your web site or blog for more great information. Use words such as "And now I would like to invite you to..."

Step 3 - The trade - This is where the reader trades their email address for more good information from you. You must get over your concern about asking for the opt-in, because if a prospect is not going to give you their email address now they certainly are not going to give you their credit card later.

Step 4 - Follow up - Your future and your fortune are in the follow up. This is where most marketers drop the ball. Follow up with more good information before you ask for the sale.

Step 5 - TGC - TGC stands for Take Great Care of your list. We use strange words on the internet such as "traffic" and "lists." Both traffic and lists are made up of individual people with heads and hearts. Answer their questions. Ask them questions. Take great care of them and they will take great care of you.

And I'd like to invite you to use these five steps over and over again to build your list of gold with your articles.

One of the best traffic-generating tools these days is article marketing. This is the process of writing and distributing articles to publishing sites to strengthen your online presence and build quality inbound links to improve your page ranking. As this marketing tool is cost-effective and efficient, this is highly recommended by millions of webmasters worldwide.

Here are the 4 persuasive secrets to explode your article marketing:

1. Bank on the quality of your articles. This is the most important element in article marketing. You must be able to offer your readers well-written, content-rich, informative, and useful articles so you can earn their trust and compel them to visit your website.

2. Write and submit more articles. In article marketing, the more articles you write and submit the more quality inbound links you can obtain for your website. To easily boost the number of your backlinks, strive to multiply the number of your output by either spending more time writing or hiring competent ghostwriters.

3. Use attractive titles. To easily catch the attention of online users, use titles that are striking and attention-grabbing. Communicate the benefits that readers can get once they open and read your articles so they will be more willing to invest their time reading your content.

4. Your articles must be fact-based. You don't want to mislead your readers by feeding them unverified information as this can easily ruin your online credibility. Make it a habit to check your data before publishing your content and back up your arguments with research and other reputable resources to make your articles credible and believable.

Amazing Article Marketing - Announcing 4 Fast Ways to Make Money Through Article Marketing

Article marketing is the most effective marketing tool in the internet today - I am sure you have heard of that a million times. But what they usually don't say is that, it can only be effective if you care to do it right. You need to consider several elements to make sure that you satisfy your readers and the search engines while effectively promoting your products through your content.

1. To increase the chances of your articles being picked up and republished, make sure that they are well-written, content-rich, timely, informative, and factual. They must also be useful and offer solutions to the pressing issues of your target market. If you can consistently produce these kinds of articles, you can be assured that you will drive quality traffic to your site and establish your expertise online in no time.

2. To increase your conversion rate, strive to create compelling resource box. Remember, it must be short but catchy. Use powerful words that can potentially entice online users to check on your website. It would help if you can offer incentives like free ebooks or articles to people who click on your website's URL.

3. Write more. To strengthen your online presence and further communicate your expertise, you need to create more articles on a regular basis. This can lead to numerous inbound links that will help drive more traffic to your website and improve your page ranking.

4. Plan ahead. There are a lot of smaller tasks associated with article marketing which include: article writing, article submission, keyword and topic research, and tracking of your performance online. To make sure that you will be able to do all these tasks, I suggest that you establish a workable schedule and stick to it.

Niche Marketing Online: How To Easily Develop Your Internet Business Focus

If you want to make money online, youll need to have the right combination of products and services, marketing tools, and systems in place to ensure that people will want to buy what you are selling. If youre competing with thousands of other businesses to sell general products and services, your chances of success as a new competitor in the market are pretty low.

However, if you use the power of niche marketing to meet a demand for products and services, you can set yourself apart from your competitors and create a market for your services.

Just what is a niche?

A niche is simply one distinct piece of a market. If youre a writer, you can split all the different types of writing up into different niches. You can be a legal writer, a medical writer, a writer who writes specifically for the Web, a marketing communications writer, or a writer focusing on short fiction. Finding your niche is a matter of identifying a need that has not been filled by other professionals in your industry and coming up with a way to meet the demand.

If youre interested in marketing products, marketing hundreds of products that are marketed by many other companies is not a good way to make sales and gain market share. However, if you can come up with a very specific product that meets an unfulfilled need in the industry, you may be able to make your business a success. One good example of niche marketing with products is found in the pet products industry.

Many companies market pet food, collars, and leashes, but there was a market for personalized pet products that wasnt being catered to. Someone figured out that people really do have a need for personalized pet picture frames and bowls and that person is now successfully selling personalized pet products. Its all about finding a need and being able to fill it with your products or your skills.

How do I get started in niche marketing?

When you start marketing within a specific niche, start small. Dont start offering every product in your niche before youve found out if you can be successful with that niche. You can start by offering information on a specific topic. If you get a lot of traffic and inquiries, you can add a few products to your site to test out how well they sell and how many people keep visiting to look for more products or information.

Once you have established yourself, you can continue to add products, services, and information to your web site. Starting out small will save you the money of buying an inventory of products that wont sell. If you establish yourself first, youll be more confident in the amount of sales you can make.

What if I dont have a product or service to sell?

You should keep in mind that information can also be very profitable if you can find the right niche and marketing strategies. By starting an informational site, you can create opportunities for yourself to become an affiliate marketer or to offer paid advertising on your site to other companies and individuals. The key to using an informational site as a niche marketing tool is to offer solid content and resources for your visitors.

Breaking into niche marketing will take some great ideas and a commitment to marketing your web site as effectively as possible. If you can find the right niche and make the right decisions, youll be able to turn your small niche into a profitable online business.

Link Building Strategies For A Website Owner

Link building is the first marketing strategy every website should go for soon after submission of their site details to search engines. The popularity of a website is measured by search engines by way of calculating how many links pointing towards it. Some powerful links from popular website can help your website rise to the top of search engines without much waiting.

One-way link building from websites having page rank worth 3 or more can help you to get attention from search engines immediately. These links are worth paying for. These links serves two fold purposes. Apart from being just a link, it also serves as an advertisement of your website. Create attractive links, which are not only rich in keyword but also serves as a good advertisement.

Reciprocal link building is another strategy adopted by many webmasters. But these links tends to be less powerful, since these links are placed in a separate links page which many not have a higher page rank.

Identify a range of keywords which is best suitable for your website and also matches the content you have in your website. These keywords should be related to your kind of business. Crafting a website link is an art, look at how different websites prepare their links with different set of keywords. Seed same set of links in some good websites and soon you will start reaping its rewards by way of higher search engine ranking and an increase in traffic to your website. These links will definitely help your website to get itself exposed to many prospective buyers of your product or services who depends search engines to find a website.

7 Must-Know Rules for Article Marketing

If you are just getting started with article marketing, or if you are still learning about article marketing, begin on the right foot. Here are seven simple rules you must know (and apply) in your article marketing campaign.

Rule #1: Make a plan. Before you begin writing articles, sit down and set a few goals for yourself. Know what your purpose is for marketing with articles.

Rule #2: Create a list of directories. Knowing where to submit your articles will save you time. Decide where you'll submit your articles. Create an account at each website and bookmark it.

Rule #3: Gather article ideas. You should never wait until you think you're ready to write a few articles to compile ideas. Jot down ideas you have every day. Keep a small notebook handy to write your ideas in. When you're ready to write articles, you'll have a miniature gold mine of ideas waiting for you.

Rule #4: Write fast. Lots of writers struggle over writing a perfect copy the first time around. Forget about it. Write fast, letting your thoughts flow onto the page. Once you're finished with your draft you can edit as much as you like.

Rule #5: Check spelling, grammar and word count. Before you submit your article to any directory, be sure you run a spelling and grammar check on the document. If you tend to forget to do this, write yourself a reminder on a sticky note and place it on your monitor screen.

Rule #6: Include a well-written resource box. This is the most important, and often most overlooked, part of the article marketing process. Always include a resource box with your articles that creates a call of action to your readers.

Rule #7: Be consistent. You can't write a handful of articles and expect huge results. Article marketing requires persistence and consistency. Plan long-term and you'll start getting amazing results from your article marketing efforts.

Marketing - What Works Best?

Some experts claim using the number 7 will dramatically increase your sales and conversion ratio.

However, in his article, "The Truth About The Fallacy Of 7" Dean Phillips strongly disagrees with that assessment. Dean writes:

"Almost without exception, every infomercial I've watched over the years, regardless of the product, have prices that end with a five or a nine. For example, $29.95, $39.99, $249.95. The number "7" may be lucky in dice, but in marketing, it's just another number!"

Is Dean right?

With all due respect to Mr. Phillips, I think he's missing the point. It really doesn't matter what has worked in the past or is currently working for someone else. In marketing, it's all about what works best for you.

It has long been determined blue is the best color to use for your website. The color blue is supposed to have a calming influence over visitors to your website, making them more receptive to your offer. Certain shades of blue indicate dependability, making it a good color for business ads. Blue is also associated with authority and dependability, and is a popular color for uniforms, worn by police officers, mail carriers, security guards and other officials.

With that in mind, I used the color blue when I built my website. However, while doing research for this article, I also discovered some of the most successful Internet Marketing websites don't use blue at all. Websites like Addme.com, Knowthis.com and Marketingterms.com.

Proving once again, it's all about what works best for you.

Some experts claim having an attractive website will help you sell more products. But Mark Daoust of Site-reference.com discovered something interesting. In his article, "The Surprising Truth About Ugly Websites" Mark writes:

"I was struck by an example of just how effective ugly websites can be this past week as I was browsing through some web related news. I stumbled across the story of Plenty of Fish. This is a very plain looking website that offers a free online dating service much like Match.com (but without the subscription fee). There was nothing specifically impressive about the website that stood out to me, in fact the site was actually rather ugly.

What caused me (and I am sure several other people) to take a second look at the website was its reported earnings. It is reported that this website brings in over $10,000 from Adsense - in one day. Yes, you did read that correctly. For those of you counting, that is $300,000 per month and nearly one million dollars in just three months.

The example of Plenty of Fish lead me to consider how an ugly website could be so successful. As I looked around, I suddenly realized that this was not the only successful ugly website. Ebay is unbelievably ugly, Craigslist has never won an award for innovative design, and IMDB has never even bothered to format their text out of the default Times New Roman."

I'd like to add something relative to Mark's statement. Selfpromotion.com has one of the ugliest websites I've ever seen. The website is nothing but pages and pages of black text on a white background. Ugly and boring. Yet, the website has been extremely successful for years.

In closing, you should always respect proven, time-tested marketing methods and strategies. But that doesn't mean you have to necessarily go along with the staus quo either. Because in marketing, it ultimately comes down to, what works best for you!

List Building - The Power Of Two!

If you could successfully apply the "power of two" to your viral list building, you could potentially grow you list incredibly to in excess of one million subscribers in as little as 20 weeks, the power of two is literally that powerful when applied as a multiplier to your list!

1 million subscribers in as little as 20 weeks ... I guess you're now thinking that I might just be a touch mad. Well you'd be right! But, when you see my example of the "power of two" below, you'll see that by getting just one key ingredient of your viral list building right, your list will explode exponentially in a very short space of time!

To explode your own lists in just a few weeks, you've got to apply viral list building tactics that will stimulate the "power of two". In particular, you've got to provide really compelling reasons for each new subscriber you get to join your list to tell other people about you and your products. Crucially for the power of two work, you need your new subscribers to each tell just "two" other people, that's right just two".

Let's look at the example I promised above of the "power of two" in action:

We're going to assume that you already have a squeeze page published to capture your opt-ins.

Whilst surfing I stumble upon your squeeze page and decide to subscribe to your list. You've now got your first sign up and are therefore a list owner! Once subscribed, you take me to a special offer page, where you show me an incredible free gift that I can have if I tell my friends or my own list of subscribers about your site.

Your gift is just too good to turn down! I instantly tell my friends about your site and during the next week, two of them subscribe to your list. So now, after 2 weeks of list building you have grown your list to 3 subscribers ( know three subscribers in just two weeks doesn't seem too impressive, but it does get better I promise!).

My two friends (your new subscribers), now see the same offer of a free gift in return for finding you further subscribers. Finding your offer irresistible, they in turn tell some of their friends about your you and your products. As a result each of them send you two new subscribers during the following week. At the end of week three you therefore have a list of 7 subscribers!

This sequence of events repeats for the next seven weeks. Every new subscriber finds you just 2 more sign-ups each during the following week. By week 10 your list has now grown to a much more impressive 511 subscribers (getting better, but still not a life changing number).

So ten weeks to get 511 subscribers on to your list. By repeating the sequence for the next 10 weeks, by the end of week 20, your list will have grown to an incredible 1,048,575 subscribers ... that's right, you'll add over a million subscribers in the last 10 weeks! You can see the full worked example in my free ebook List Building Riches (you can get a copy from the link below).

The power of two will grow your list to over one million subscribers in just 20 weeks, if successfully applied. When you see this example, getting to a million subscribers doesn't sound so daunting, after all getting someone to tell just 2 people about your list doesn't isn't an unreasonable task.

The key ingredient is "the compelling reason" you give to your visitors to tell others about your products and pages. When a new subscriber signs up, you need to immediately offer them an incredible free gift they can't say no to.

Make sure your gift has real value and is targeted to a specific need you know they will have. Once you've created an insatiable desire for your gift, only let them have it once they have told their friends about you and your products!

Your list building process can be automated to harness the "power of two", I'll show you how in my free report below. Get it right and your list will flourish and multiply like you never imagined possible.

When you start building your lists, think massive, think Viral! Get yourself a great free gift that will give your subscribers a "hugely compelling reason" to give to market your list for you and watch the "power of two" take affect.
